Nannette & Charles

It was such a pleasure working with Nannette and Charles to create their dream wedding weekend in Blacksburg, Virginia. Every aspect of the wedding was filled with personal touches from the moment that guests arrived at the hotel until they they left on Sunday after breakfast. A fun color scheme of pink and orange was carried throughout the wedding. Hanging from the doors of the Virginia Tech War Memorial Chapel were two large letters, “N” and “C” and a custom aisle runner with the couples monogram dressed up the aisle. After the ceremony guests travelled by bus to the German Club Manor for the cocktail hour and recpeiton. Hanging from the beams in the foyer of the German Club were orange and pink lanterns and custom pillows on the couches. The guest tables had white floor length linens with orange and pink criss-crossing runners and white chair covers with pink and orange organza sashes. All deocr and floral element designs were created by Diamond Events.

Elizabeth & Julio

Elizabeth and Julio married at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Roanoke, Virginia in October of 2010. Elizabeth had a very specific vision for her wedding incorporating bold tones of eggplant, burnt orange and pops of green which all came together marvelously. The reception was held at the Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center, the style and tones of the hotel were a great addition to the wedding décor. The tables were set with burnt orange pintuck linens and tall, colorful centerpieces. The menu cards designed by Diamond Events were tucked into a square napkin folded flat at each place setting. To top off the fall theme, the soup was served in a hollowed pumpkin. The guests were entertained by three different ensembles throughout the night, a Mariachi band that serenaded guests during cocktail hour and dinner, a hot salsa band that made their way from Washington D.C. to get everyone dancing and a DJ to make sure that no one went home early! And the remarkable coordinator that pulled this all of, our very own Morgan Leonard, who did a fabulous job!

Elizabeth & Steven

Both Elizabeth and Steven grew up and attend Blacksburg High School and Virginia Tech together so chosing to host their wedding in their hometown didn’t take much considerataion. The day started early at the salon to be ready in time for the 11:00am ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. After the ceremony guests made there way to the Virginia Tech German Club while the couple went around campus taking pictures with photographer Laura of Laura’s Focus Photography. The deejay and mc of the reception was the wonderful Roy Prusak of RSP Entertainment. Floral decor was provided by Best Wishes and attached to the brides bouquet was a small horseshoe that represents good luck in English tradition. A combination of great frieinds, great music and a wonderful reason to celebrate resulted in an afternoon of fun and a packed dance floor. You can view more pictures from the wedding on the Laura’s Focus Photography blog.

Ashley & Jeremy

Recent Radford University graduates, the cute duo chose to host their nuptials at the Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church located in Vinton, Virginia, a small town on the northeastern outskirts of the City of Roanoke. Immediately following the ceremony, the guests made their way across the street to the elegant Vinton War Memorial. The grand ballroom was decorated in colors of periwinkle, yellow and white and was matched by the simple yet tasteful glowing floral centerpieces that were created by Jim Taetz of Crystal Orchard. Ashley’s sorority sang their traditional song to her followed by Jeremy’s fraternity serenading Ashley in beautiful harmony. The mouthwatering dinner was catered by Blue Ridge Catering and the beautiful cake was created by Lisa Link. Matt and Matt of RSP Entertainment played great tunes that had everyone up on their feet. As the evening came to a close the guests formed a line outside of the front entrance and blew bubbles as Jeremy escorted Ashley to their get-away-car.

Claire & Will

Claire and Will, both Virginia Tech graduates who fell in love (with each other and the area) chose to host their wedding weekend in Roanoke, Virginia. With friends and family coming from across the country, Hotel Roanoke provided the perfect location for their guests to easily access downtown Roanoke dining and shopping, while being within walking distance of the ceremony at St. Andrews Catholic church. The couple wanted to spend cocktail hour with their guests so they had their “first look” before the ceremony and went around the hotel with Jeremy Pegg of Enigma Productions and the wedding party for pictures. As their deacon, Mike Ellerbrock reassured them, “it’s just superstition anyways” to see each other before the wedding. In typical Claire and Will fashion, they finished pictures early and got the church just before a heavy storm blew through Roanoke. The ceremony went off without a hitch and the rain stopped just as the ceremony ended so everyone could gather on the front steps of St. Andrews for a group picture. Guests made their way back to Hotel Roanoke for cocktail hour, patiently waiting for the reveal of the Crystal Ballroom. One of our favorite parts of the reception is bringing the bride and groom into the room to show them how everything has come together and let them take in their centerpieces, cake and all of the details. The room looked magical; the blue glow of the centerpieces by Gloriosa looked amazing and kept everyone talking. The DJ and master of ceremonies for the evening were Matt and Matt of RSP Entertainment. Guests were dancing all night long, sometimes to the vocal accompaniment from the dance floor. As the night came to an end the couple had their last dance and made their way to their room looking forward to wonderful week in Belize. It was a joy to get to know both Claire and Will and feel honored they chose us to help make their wedding wishes come true!

Courtney & Mike

Growing up in a small town might give some the impression that you would have a small wedding, but this was not the case at all for Courtney and Mike. Being the only daughter to the town’s local doctor resulted in a long guest list of patients, friends, neighbors and family. To accommodate everyone the couple chose to have two receptions, their first reception immediately following the ceremony at First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg, Virginia. In order to transform the church into a more elegant and brighter space from its current dark brick and low lighting, was quite a challenge. Over 60 candles were added to the ledge above the altar and side railings, ivory fabric was hung and bright floral arrangements throughout brightened the space. The hallway and gymnasium were lined in white fabric which covered all of the walls, an amazing transformation. During the reception guests enjoyed live music by harpist Whitney Dobyns as they watched the bride and groom cut their 6 layer wedding cake by Our Daily Bread. As the first reception came to an end, close friends and family made their way to the second reception at Rockwood Manor in Dublin, Virginia. Guests were greeted by a Jazz band and southern soul food by Professional Catering. As the evening went on dance music was provided by Russel Prusak and team of RSP Entertainment. The guests were fortunate to experience wedding games and tricks played on the bride and groom, a tradition that Courtney and Mike’s good friend directed and kept everyone laughing. To end the night the couple made a grand exit out the front of the house to everyone lined with sparklers leading them to the getaway car. Congratulations Courtney and Mike, may your life together be as spectacular and fun as your wedding day!

Jenny & Chris

Jenny and Chris had such a romantic Hunt Country wedding in Warrenton, Virginia. The ceremony was held at St. James Episcopal Church located in the historic district of Warrenton. Afterwards everyone travelled to Fauquier Springs Country Club for the cocktail hour and reception. Even though you don’t have to work with only members from Hunt Country Celebrations (a group of local, premier wedding professionals) it just so happened that each of Jenny and Chris’s vendors were members! Jake Richie of Dream Day DJ’s did a great job providing entertainment and keeping guests aware of all of the festivities. Photographer, Wally Smith of Sonshine Pictures even provided a backdrop and props to capture guests’ portraits. Jason Reeves of Market Salamander made a delicious cake that was simple, yet elegant and decorated with frosty pinecones. The delicious food and service was provided by Legends Catering. Congratulations Jenny and Chris, what a classy winter wedding!

Susan & Tom

The weather the week before the wedding had been unusually rainy and cold for October in Washington D.C. and that Saturday the constant rain didn’t let up for even a second, but you would have never had known by looking at Susan and Tom’s face. The couple chose St. Mary’s Catholic Church in historic downtown Alexandria, Virginia to hold their ceremony, a beautiful church with arched ceilings and stained glass windows. Afterwards guests travelled to the Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center on the Potomac River in National Harbor, Maryland right outside of Washington D.C. The reception was held at the Moon Bay Restaurant in the atrium of the Gaylord. The wedding party crossed over the bridge to make their grand entrance. Guests then found their place card votive and made their way to their seats. Gorgeous floral arrangements were designed by Belinda Cooper of Floral Society and the scrumptious cake was made by Alexandria Pastry Shop. Guests were treated to a delicious dinner buffet, endless sides, salmon, filet, lobster, and chicken, there was something to please the taste buds of each guest. Pat Curran of Davis DeeJay’s did a great job keeping the reception flowing and getting everyone on the dance floor. At the end of the night the festivities continued to the rooftop, Pose Lounge and Nightclub. Congrats Susan and Tom, thanks for sharing your day with us!

Glicer & Noe

Diamond Events have been working with Glicer and Noe for over a year now and it has been such an easy going experience. Glicer was so organized and ahead of schedule, not once was there a moment of panic. Glicer really focused on picking local vendors that made the experience easier for all of their wedding party, family and friends! The ceremony was held at St. Stephen-Martyr Catholic Church, just blocks from the reception, held at The Fairmont Washington D.C. The ceremony was a very traditional Spanish Catholic wedding, a beautiful blending of the two families. Afterwards guests walked to The Fairmont for a cocktail reception in the loggia. Guests impatiently waited for the reception to begin in the grand Colonnade room, rumor of the photo booth by Booth-O-Rama quickly spreading. Cute centerpieces with pink roses and orange lilly’s were created by Christi of Bergeron. Pink wire that swirled the vase came through the top of the centerpiece to hold the table number, so unique! Tables alternated with pink and orange napkins, and candy tin favors. Michael Liang of Precious Moment Wedding Photography moved around the round room capturing guests in a photojournalistic style. DJ Leon Sidbury kept everyone dancing all afternoon, lots of Salsa to show off Noe’s dance moves! As the afternoon came to an end, guests were not ready to leave, many of them reconvening downtown to continue the festivities. What a fun reception! Best of luck Glicer and Noe!
