Bohemian Soiree

Morgan and David’s fall wedding at Chantilly Farm was the epitome of bohemian chic. The eclectic event featured bold colors and vintage touches—from the bridal attire to the festive décor. Even the bride’s “something blue” shoes had that boho feel, in ethereal turquoise and gleaming silver.

The bridal party wore bright dresses and bow ties that complimented their bouquets and boutonnières, respectively. The vivid flowers held pops of red, purple, yellow and orange. During the ceremony, against a breathtaking backdrop that overlooked Floyd County, stood a birchwood arbor decorated in fall flowers. In addition to the archway, these flowers also lined the aisles on suspended hooks. In the barn reception, fun fuschia tablecloths, shimmering gold runners, and the regal navy napkins complimented the floral decor.

Equally as bohemian as the color scheme were the event’s vintage elements, which included framed family photos and colored glassware. The lightheartedness of the bohemian wedding continued in the treats that guests enjoyed. The couple celebrated their wedding with a Krispy Kreme donut cake with wooden versions of them on top. “All you need is love or maybe a donut,” proclaimed a nearby sign. As guests danced the night away, they were able to re-energize at the customizable popcorn bar.

Melissa & Shannon’s House Mountain Inn Wedding

Just like when they first met, Melissa & Shannon quickly fell in love with their venue. Lexington, Va.’s House Mountain Inn set the perfect September backdrop for the couple, who were looking to host a fall, country wedding. Atop the couple’s three-tiered wedding cake sat the words “Dynamic Duo”, reflecting the power pairing–as well as Melissa’s and Shannon’s love of all things superhero. This theme was reflected in details, like the comic-book-style save-the-dates (scenes from their proposal), the groom’s /best man’s processional song (Star Wars) and the superhero-titled tables. The bride’s bouquet held red roses and white calla lillies, while the bridal party’s bouquets held different shades of yellow roses with red hypericum berries. The groomsmen and groomswomen wore matching boutonnieres and wrist bracelet corsages. The decor at the ceremony and reception sites consisted of tall, glass vases with red roses and white hydrangeas, with yellow flower petals lining ceremony aisle. The two-part reception featured a s’mores bar and superhero photo props. Following the reception, attendees partied all-night-long with streaming music, a hookah bar (created from Jack Daniels bottles) and multiple games of cornhole.

Jamie & David

Oh where to start, Jamie and David’s wedding was AMAZING, I am not sure how else to say it.  There was not one detail that was overlooked, from the letterpress invitations, to the over the top flowers, the band that kept everyone dancing to the sparkler exit. The ceremony took place in Radford, Virginia in a church that Jamie grew up in and the reception took place on the campus of Virginia Tech (where the couple met while going to college) at the German ClubLetterpress wedding invitations in gold Wedding Accessories Indigo_0333 Inn at Virginia Tech Wedding Pictures Bride in Trolley Bride in Trolley

Erin & Brett

Erin and Bret chose to host their wedding at Primland resort in the mountain tops of southwest Virginia. After reaching the entry gate, there is still a 6 mile drive before reaching the main lodge where all wedding festivities took place. The ceremony was held in the great hall with rows of silver chiavari chairs and two large Manzanita trees draped with crystals. The bridesmaids wore dark silver dresses with all purple bouquets of hydrangea, roses and stock. The bridal bouquet was round cluster of peonies that smelled amazing! Dinner was held in the Elements dining room. Each table had a dark silver Dupioni linen with a grouping of 3 different silver containers (all of which were collected by the bride’s mother herself!). The room was very romantic and cozy with lots of candle light and a fireplace in the center of the room. After dinner guest moved in the Galaxy ballroom to dance the night away to a live band, The Embers. At the end of the night, the bride’s parents gave away wine from a local winery, Chateau Morrisette with a tag that said, “Thank you for sharing this special day with us. On November 3, 2013, we invite you to open this bottle and raise your glass in celebration of Erin and Bret’s first anniversary! Cheers!” What a great idea for guests to remember the couple’s wedding anniversary!

Rockwood Manor Wedding

Rockwood Manor had been the host of many Magill family reunions for the bride, so she felt at home having her wedding their too.  The ceremony had a dramatic backdrop with red and aqua organza fabric draped from a tall branch in the front yard.  It was a hot a summer day, so thankfully each ceremony seat had a red or aqua paper fan.  For a favor, the couple gave each guest a wine glass that doubled as their place card.  Each glass had a wine charm with the guests name and table number.  The reception tent popped with aqua linens, red satin napkins and white folding chairs.  Congrats Crystal & Chris, what a fun wedding!!!

Lindsey & Seth

Pink, Navy Blue and Silver have to be one of my favorite color combinations and it was such a pleasure working with Lindsey over the past year bringing her vision to life. The couple held their ceremony at Christiansburg Presbyterian Church. The aisles were lined with large pink and white pomander balls and the bride and bridesmaids carried lush, full peony bouquets while the groomsmen had large pink ranunculus. The reception was held at the Virginia Tech German Club in Blacksburg, Virginia. The tables were surrounded with silver chiavari chairs and set with navy blue pintuck linens, silver chargers, bright pink napkins and centerpieces that alternated between tall, medium and small arrangements of pink and white peonies. The candy buffet was incredible and the bride even made lollipop tree’s to display on the favor table. Below you can watch a video of the room transformation beginning to end.

Mica & Ryan

Mica and Ryan had a colorful pink and yellow summer wedding at Rose Hill Manor in Leesburg, Virginia. The new pagoda hung with paper lanterns was the perfect back drop for their ceremony on the back patio. The escort cards were displayed in wooden boxes with a layer of moss and silver wire spiraled to hold each person’s card. The centerpieces for the guest tables were mason jars with yellow sunflowers, roses, gerbera daisies, hypericum berries and billy balls fitting perfectly with the summer theme.
