Megan & Brandon

Megan & Brandon’s southern wedding at Whitehall Manor in Leesburg, Virginia was packed with details and custom DIY projects. In front of the house were, “Eat, Drink and Be Married” arrows showing which direction to go. During cocktail hour guests were entertained by “cootie catchers” and a vintage photobooth. The tables were named after activities that the couple liked to do together so posters were made explaining each activity. The centerpieces were three different designs in a variety of colors, pink, purple, orange and yellow. The lampshade centerpiece even lit up to have a totally different look at night. After cutting the cake the candy bar opened and guests were treated to delicious cookies made by the brides dad himself. For the final exit the couple did a sparkler exit out the side doors of Whitehall Manor before departing in their limousine, which I don’t have a picture of, but you can find more pictures from the wedding on the Jessica Smith Photography Blog.

Nannette & Charles

It was such a pleasure working with Nannette and Charles to create their dream wedding weekend in Blacksburg, Virginia. Every aspect of the wedding was filled with personal touches from the moment that guests arrived at the hotel until they they left on Sunday after breakfast. A fun color scheme of pink and orange was carried throughout the wedding. Hanging from the doors of the Virginia Tech War Memorial Chapel were two large letters, “N” and “C” and a custom aisle runner with the couples monogram dressed up the aisle. After the ceremony guests travelled by bus to the German Club Manor for the cocktail hour and recpeiton. Hanging from the beams in the foyer of the German Club were orange and pink lanterns and custom pillows on the couches. The guest tables had white floor length linens with orange and pink criss-crossing runners and white chair covers with pink and orange organza sashes. All deocr and floral element designs were created by Diamond Events.

Brie & Gino

Brie and Gino were married on a rainy spring day in April. The morning of the wedding the wind and rain didn’t let up for a second, forcing us to move the ceremony inside. Miraculously, as soon as it was time for the ceremony, the clouds broke and the sun shone through giving the bride and groom time for pictures outside while the guests enjoyed cocktail hour. Flowers were designed by Angela Courser of Corsair Floral & Décor.

Erin & Brett

Being involved with Erin & Brett’s wedding from the very beginning, looking for venues, working with vendors and putting together a complete decor and floral package that was exactly what she envisioned, was such a pleasure and so rewarding to see it all come together. After a thorough search throughout Loudoun County and the Hunt Country area, the couple chose Rose Hill Manor to host their wedding. The ceremony was held on the back patio with bright red rose petals lining the aisle and a custom chuppah made by a family friend. The bridesmaids carried white calla lilys and Erin’s bouquet of red roses and mini white calla lilies popped in front her white wedding dress. For the reception the tables were dressed in black linens with a white embroidered overlay and red satin napkins, the chairs had a black chair cover and white satin sash. The centerpieces were groupings of white hydrangeas and submerged in the water were red LED lights which created a glow on the table during dinner. Congratulations Erin & Brett, I hope your marriage is as beautiful as your wedding!

Elizabeth & Julio

Elizabeth and Julio married at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Roanoke, Virginia in October of 2010. Elizabeth had a very specific vision for her wedding incorporating bold tones of eggplant, burnt orange and pops of green which all came together marvelously. The reception was held at the Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center, the style and tones of the hotel were a great addition to the wedding décor. The tables were set with burnt orange pintuck linens and tall, colorful centerpieces. The menu cards designed by Diamond Events were tucked into a square napkin folded flat at each place setting. To top off the fall theme, the soup was served in a hollowed pumpkin. The guests were entertained by three different ensembles throughout the night, a Mariachi band that serenaded guests during cocktail hour and dinner, a hot salsa band that made their way from Washington D.C. to get everyone dancing and a DJ to make sure that no one went home early! And the remarkable coordinator that pulled this all of, our very own Morgan Leonard, who did a fabulous job!

Tori & Roberto

Tori and Roberto had a beautiful pink and silver wedding at the stately Rose Hill Manor in Leesburg Virginia. Their ceremony and cocktail hour took place on the back patio so that guests were able to enjoy the fall temperatures outside. Afterwards guests made their way into the ballroom. The tables were dressed in light pink pintuck linens, silver satin napkins and silver chiavari chairs. The centerpieces were bright pink hydrangeas and roses in a square vase wrapped with a silver ribbon. The evening was full of fun and dancing to a wide variety of music but often times salsa, which got everyone on the dance floor and looked like so much fun! Congratulations to Tori and Roberto!

Kristin & Jan

It was such a pleasure to work with Kristin and her mom Kathy from the very early stages in the planning process. In our first meeting I remember Kristin commenting on the two main requests she had for her wedding “open bar and chair covers” and from that point forward I knew we were going to have a fun yet classy wedding to plan.
Our biggest challenge was faced very early on. The realization soon set in that until the release of the Virginia Tech football schedule in late February, many local hotels in Roanoke and Blacksburg cannot secure a fall wedding date; Kristin decided that she really wanted to get married on September 26, 2009 at the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center in Roanoke, Virginia. As we impatiently waited for the schedule to be released, checking the website multiple times a day, the time had finally come and the unthinkable happened, a Miami home game on the September 26th and they too would be staying at the Sheraton and using their ballroom the morning of the wedding. Nonetheless, Ginny Morgan, the Sheraton’s Catering Sales Manager, went to endless lengths to accommodate the wedding, quickly flip their ballroom and still maintain their superior service.
Wedding Weekend:
No detail was overlooked for the entire wedding weekend. As guests arrived to the Sheraton on Friday they received Welcome Bag’s at check-in. The rehearsal dinner, held at the Roanoke Country Club was decorated for an elegant BBQ. The tables were draped in black and white checkered linens with hanging lanterns as the centerpiece. A delicious buffet of southern comfort food was served before Kristin and Jan began presenting their wedding party with their gifts.
The weather report for Saturday, 100% chance of rain. Luckily Kristin’s photographer, Noah Magnifico of Magnifico Photography, had lots of suggestions for pictures in indoor locations around Roanoke, including Hotel Roanoke. He was able to get lots of great shots of the wedding party without letting rain get in the way of his creativity.
After pictures, the wedding party travelled to St. Andrews Catholic church for the ceremony. As Kristin made her way down the aisle, the sounds from the organ and trumpet, made a stunning and grandiose entrance, I even got chills on my arm! Afterwards guests travelled to the Sheraton to begin cocktail hour while the family stayed for pictures.
The ballroom at the Sheraton looked amazing, warm taupe table linens, mocha napkins and tall candle centerpieces designed by Jim Taetz of Crystal Orchid. The table numbers were bottles of wine with the couples monogram and the chocolates favors were made by Baylee’s Best Chocolate. The delicious wedding cake was made by Gail Wilson and had orange mini calla lily’s cascading down the sides. RSP Entertainment did a great job, the guests were energetic and dancing for hours, nobody wanted the night to end! When the couple arrived to their suite they found the letter “K” on the bed made in rose petals with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries (I love surprises!). Congratulations Kristin & Jan, it was such a pleasure to be a part of your wedding!
