Erin & Brett
January 30, 2013

Erin and Bret chose to host their wedding at Primland resort in the mountain tops of southwest Virginia. After reaching the entry gate, there is still a 6 mile drive before reaching the main lodge where all wedding festivities took place. The ceremony was held in the great hall with rows of silver chiavari chairs and two large Manzanita trees draped with crystals. The bridesmaids wore dark silver dresses with all purple bouquets of hydrangea, roses and stock. The bridal bouquet was round cluster of peonies that smelled amazing! Dinner was held in the Elements dining room. Each table had a dark silver Dupioni linen with a grouping of 3 different silver containers (all of which were collected by the bride’s mother herself!). The room was very romantic and cozy with lots of candle light and a fireplace in the center of the room. After dinner guest moved in the Galaxy ballroom to dance the night away to a live band, The Embers. At the end of the night, the bride’s parents gave away wine from a local winery, Chateau Morrisette with a tag that said, “Thank you for sharing this special day with us. On November 3, 2013, we invite you to open this bottle and raise your glass in celebration of Erin and Bret’s first anniversary! Cheers!” What a great idea for guests to remember the couple’s wedding anniversary!

A beautiful fall wedding in Old Town Alexandria, the ceremony was held at historic Christ Church built more than 235 years ago. Afterwards, guests were able to walk a few blocks to the reception at Lee Fendall House. The rustic and simple, green and yellow color scheme was carried throughout the event. The cocktail tables had clusters of yellow freesia in mason jars wrapped with raffia ribbon. There were two different designs for the centerpieces. The first was a cluster of mostly white hydrangea with yellow calla lily & snapdragon accents, placed in a square vase with lime slices. The second design was yellow snapdragons, green hydrangea and white dahlias in a cylinder vase with an aspedistra leaf swirled inside. Lanterns and candles scattered throughout the tent provided a romantic glow as nightfall set in. Congrats Shannon & Paul, what a great wedding!!!

Rockwood Manor Wedding
October 12, 2012

Rockwood Manor had been the host of many Magill family reunions for the bride, so she felt at home having her wedding their too.  The ceremony had a dramatic backdrop with red and aqua organza fabric draped from a tall branch in the front yard.  It was a hot a summer day, so thankfully each ceremony seat had a red or aqua paper fan.  For a favor, the couple gave each guest a wine glass that doubled as their place card.  Each glass had a wine charm with the guests name and table number.  The reception tent popped with aqua linens, red satin napkins and white folding chairs.  Congrats Crystal & Chris, what a fun wedding!!!

Smith Mountain Lake Wedding
October 11, 2012

A simple, country wedding at Bernard’s Landing in Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. The bouquets were 2 shades of yellow roses with yellow freesia accents and popped against the bridesmaids royal blue dresses. Along the aisle hung mason jars on blue organza ribbon and filled with white hydrangeas and yellow roses. After the ceremony the mason jars were placed on the patio tables for centerpieces. Inside the ballroom, the tables were set in white with a blue gingham runner down the center and two different centerpiece designs. The first design was a bubble vase with a cluster of white hydrangeas and yellow roses. The second design had 3 cylinder vases of different heights, with a different type of yellow flower and floating candle on top. The tallest vase had Oncidium, the medium vase had yellow rose petals and the smallest vase had yellow button mums.

Heather & Taylor
July 23, 2012

A woodsy outdoor wedding at the historic Rockwood Manor in Dublin, Virginia. Not even a little rain would keep this couple from marrying on the western side of the property with the sunset and Virginia Mountains in the background. The light mist of rain was refreshing and helped alleviate the heat. Cocktail hour was held on the patio and the tables had a burlap square with a mason jar and mini yellow sunflowers. As guest moved under the reception tent, they found their escort card strung on an old wooden ladder and the table numbers were written on mini chalkboard signs hung on bottles. The tables were set in long rows with rectangular tables , white linens and a burlap runner. Topping the cake was two adorable bicycling bride and groom figurines. The band, Whiskey Rebellion, kept the guests dancing throughout the night, not once was the dance floor empty! Topping the night was a sparkler exit for the bride and groom, congrats Heather and Taylor!

Quickly recovering from the wind storm the tore across Virginia the day before the wedding, you would have never known that tent poles had snapped in half, stacks of dishes fell over and strands of lights came apart. The weather the day of the wedding was perfect (although hot) and you could see storms dancing all across the mountain tops around us. Guests stayed at Olde Mill Resort (without power because of the storm) and were transported to the venue on buses giving them the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. The wedding was held at Heavens Holler Bed and Breakfast, owned by John and Linda Franklin, parents of the bride.
As the buses arrived, guests were greeted by cocktails and cold beverages on the front porch of the house and yard games to keep everyone entertained. Once it was time for the ceremony to begin, everyone made their way through the gardens and took their seat. The beautiful mountain views of Floyd Virginia in the background, was a breathtaking backdrop. The bride made her way down the stairs of the cottage and down the rose petal covered aisle with flower arrangements in mason jars were hanging on shepherd hooks along the edge.
After the ceremony the mason jar arrangements were moved to the guest tables to be placed in a grouping with two other vases in varying sizes. The flowers were hydrangeas, dahlias, coral roses, yellow button mums and lilies picked from the mom’s garden and arranged by Diamond Events. Other unique décor included a ceiling covered in string lights and rustic wooden tables that belonged to the bride were used for the guestbook display, cake, family, dessert and food display tables. The menu was very customized and included many dishes that incorporated the grooms Venezuelan background and traditions. Under the wedding cake were strands of ribbons, so that all of the single ladies could surround the cake and whoever pulled out the ribbon that had a charm on the end, received a special gift from the grooms mother.
Just before midnight the wedding party appeared in festive party gear to start the La Hora Loca, which is a lively transition to keep guests dancing and energized until the wee hours of the night. At midnight a delicious snack buffet opened with Arepas and Chupe Criollo and was very well received. Congratulatons Greta & Alejandro, what a great time!

Lots of orchids and 3 different tall centerpieces, what a delight it was for Diamond Events to design Heather & Charlie’s pink, black and white wedding at the Hyatt Dulles in Herndon, Virginia.  The courtyard ceremony space was the perfect backdrop for an outdoor spring wedding.  After the ceremony the guests easily transitioned into the foyer for cocktail hour while enjoying delicious food and the soothing tones of a harp.  The ballroom was set with a black base linen, pink embroidered overlay, silver chargers and a black napkin with a pink breast cancer awareness band at each place setting.  Each table had one of three different tall centerpieces.  The first centerpiece was cluster of white hydrangeas and pink roses set atop a glass trumpet vase with silver wire swirled inside.  The second centerpiece was a design of all blush pink mokara orchids atop a 28″ tall pedestal vase with pink water and a submersible light inside.  The third centerpieces was a grouping of 3 cylinder vases with submerged orchids inside and a round bubble vase on top with clear stones and a white pillar candle.  The head table was decorated with 3 of the vase used during the ceremony with with submerged white orchids inside and a floating candle was added to the top.   The cake continued the pink, black and white theme with a playful bride and groom cake topper giving “High Five”.  The cake was set on top of plexiglass which was lifted off of the table with clear cube vases with pink roses inside.  Congratulations Heather and Charlie, what a magnificent wedding you had!

The flowers were all pink with tulips as the centerpieces and large Cherry Blossom branches for the display arrangements. The bridal bouquet was all monochromatic shades of pink in peonies, David Austin roses and tulips! Diamond Events installed pink and white lanterns in the ceiling of the tent, providing soft lighting overhead throughout the entire reception. Congrats Erika & Sam, what a beautiful spring wedding!

Erin & Chris
February 9, 2012

Erin & Chris held both their ceremony and wedding reception at the stunning and historic Raspberry Plain in Leesburg, Virginia in the fall of 2011. Their colors were “wine”, gray and ivory with gold accents. The floral centerpieces were large arrangements of white hydrangeas, dark purple calla lilies and orchids. Hanging from the base of the arrangement were swags of crystals and votive candles, giving a romantic glow to the table. On every other table was a set of 3 pedestal vases 28′, 24″ and 20″ tall with a floating candle and wine colored rocks in the base. The room looked so magnificent at night, congrats Erin and Chris!
